An Absolute Sound Golden Ear Award winner, the Clearaudio Innovation Wood turntable is at the forefront of our technological revolution in the 21st century. Combining qualities from our flagship Master Reference and Statement models, the Innovation Wood takes performance to another level. It is the benchmark for Clearaudio sound and the building block to our Master Innovation turntable.
The Innovation Wood features a dual-tier, resonance-optimized Tri-star chassis based upon our proven three-point design originally introduced in our Master Reference from the 1990s. From our original Statement turntable, it uses high tech materials with a combination of Panzerholz (bulletproof wood), aluminum skins, and multiple aluminum pods.
The Innovation Wood is our first turntable to use a high-density polymer platter, mating a dynamically balanced 2.75″ POM platter to a half-inch thick, CNC-machined stainless steel sub-platter for both inertial speed effect and mass damping. A special extra-tall version of Clearaudio’s patented CMB (ceramic magnetic bearing), where the platter magnetically levitates on an inverted bearing attached to a polished ceramic shaft, incorporates powerful magnets and special shielding.
The Innovation Wood is the first model to use a high-torque 24v DC motor equipped with an OSC (optical speed control) circuit controlled in real time via an infrared sensor and strobe ring mounted to the stainless-steel flywheel sub-platter. Further performance can be had with the Smart Power 24v battery power supply. The end result is a highly musical, detailed presentation with very accurate pitch and exceptional rhythm and pace.
The Innovation Wood is available in black or silver anodize finish with your choice of natural lacquer or piano black lacquer Panzerholz cores. Custom color lacquers in red or white are personalized upgrades. Typically used with our Universal 12” tonearm, it can function as dual-tonearm design or fitted with the TT-1MI ultimate tangential tonearm. It is field upgradeable to the Master Innovation and creates both a visual and auditory statement on our Olympus stand.
