Pro-Ject set out with the goal of providing a flexible, convenient and sound-first approach to digitally recording precious vinyl & tape. The resulting digital copy is meant to act as an indestructible archive of an invaluable recording. The front input selector allows to choose between an incoming phone or line-level signal (selected input also determines output). This function allows A/D Box S2 Phono either to serve as high-quality phono preamp in your hifi system or as a medium for archiving. ‘Record level’ adjustment is extremely helpful in avoiding clipping as well, though keep in mind that the best sonics are achieved by pushing the gear a bit. ‘Record level’ should be substantial but without peaking (partially dependent on the source material).
