Blowing in the wind

Going a step further than the original Wind Floorstanding, the Wind Design is refined to the highest sonic tolerances. With its hand-selected drivers and exclusive crossover components, the Wind Design offers ultra-broad all-axis sound staging performance. Designed like a musical instrument, the Wind Design delivers sonic expressivity to the absolute, pulling you inside the music.

Dressed for uncompromising musical renditions, the Wind Design’s six-layer multicoated finishes results in additional structural rigidity. The deep luster finish not only adds shine but also allows for a more cohesive acoustic behavior. At the base of the front baffle is a new articulating claw that is adjustable for slanting back the baffle for precise spatial alignment. The rear skid-plate decoupling system allows for additional spatial performance.

Bespoke Acoustic Engineering

Customized Drivers

Every single driver is completely unique to Totem and proprietary in design, engineered by Totem and then manufactured to the strictest standards to meet our parameters by the finest raw driver suppliers in the world. In some cases, where the technology is beyond the capabilities of suppliers or is wished to kept secret, Totem can and will build our own drivers. Every driver exhibits phase linearity, speed, emotion, off axis natural presentation, and spatial articulation.

Handmade Crossovers

With Point-to-Point Connections

Totem crossovers don’t require many parts because of the synergy between their customized drivers, but the components are the world’s best. Totem's crossovers aren’t built on PCB’s because the laminated conductive tracks are weak and inconsistent.  Instead, they are secured to a thin piece of fiberboard or insulated polymers and components are mechanically crimped together because it simply sounds better. When we must solder, we choose WBT Silver Solder, the purest in the industry.

Artisanal Cabinet Construction

Master Craftsman Woodwork

Meticulously handcrafted for peak performance that lasts decades. Lock-Miter assembly is an intricate woodworking procedure where edges physically interlock together. The resulting cabinet is up to 5 times stronger than conventional V Groove cabinets. Internal and external veneering resists warping, structurally fortifies, and ensures consistent peak performance. Industry unique Borosilicate damping manages dissipation, keeps the cabinet musically alive, and never deteriorates.  Popular materials like poly fillers eventually decay, dramatically affecting performance.  Variable Density Fiberboard is denser at the extremities than the interior to reduce repetitive nodes and resonances.

Connectors

WBT Bi-Wire / Bi-Amp

Premium WBT connectors are the preferred choice by all audiophiles. WBT connectors let the signal through without interfering or affecting it. Superior connectors like WBT connectors will prevent any signal loss and get the most out of the entire system.

Sound Isolation

Articulated Claw and Skid Plate

The ultimate in decoupling and honing Totem speakers.  This unique claw can be adjusted to modify the angle of the cabinet for optimal bass loading, phase/space articulation, and fine-tuning the relationship between the speaker and environment.  An aluminum plate including two formed feet at the base of the speaker eliminates resonances between the floor and speaker enclosure, perfecting bass response and soundstage dimensions.
